Review by Linda Gray
I know these boots are fairly expensive but worth every penny. They are brilliantly constructed and last for years
Review by Brian
Having worn them indoors initially they felt very comfortable. After a mere 5 mile walk recently involving hilly terrain both of my heels were sore and I had a large blister on my right heel which had burst. I do a lot of walking and wear quality walking socks. I have owned Zamberlan boots before and always find them to be of excellent quality. I am sure they will ease with further walking: I will take extra heel precautions until then.
Review by Steve
So far so good comfortable from the first wear they appear to be very well made and Id highly recommend them to anyone.
Review by Gary Eden
From the moment I placed my foot inside they felt like I had been wearing them for ever. Lovely brilliant boots would highly recommend

Uppers excellent never leak. Vibram soles bit slippery on some stone and wear out long before uppers
Review by Graeme Potter
Comfortable as soon as I put them on. Not too heavy either. The price is probably about right you get what you pay for
Review by Roderick Boyd
Best walking boot on the market. Ive worn Zamberlan boots for over twenty years and never had problems with them.
Review by Alan Bayfield
Ive always had Zamberlan boots great quality and built to last. Expensive yes but they are so so worth the money. My old Zamberlan the sole came away 2 days before ordering these. Normally I try them on but ordered the same size EU48 as my old pair and great fit. Had 2 walks in them both over 7 miles and had no problem breaking them in. The only thing I would say with the thick lining ordinary socks are sufficient to wear.
Review by Gowkieman
my second pair of these boots comfortable from the first time worn and totally waterproof if looked after properly just need a clean and a coat of hydrobloc cream when required.
Review by Michael
Best boots for hill walking (and scrambling) I have ever bought. This is my second pair. I have been Mountaineering now for 50 years?
Review by Julia Windsor
These boots are very comfortable and I would not be without them they do miles of walking with my dog every day. Every couple of years I replace them.
Review by William
My 4th or 5th pair of Zamberlan boots which suit my feet perfectly and I can walk immediately in their boots without any breaking in. Never had a blister!! The quality of the leather is excellent and the whole boot is very well made. Not the lightest or cheapest and may be rather narrow for those with wide feet but I certainly wouldnt buy any other.
Review by Bruce Little
I love these boots. They are my second pair the first ones having worn out after 7 years. they are pricey but well made. They are particularly good for me as I have narrow feet and these are made on a narrow last. I ended up ordering a good size over my normal fit as they come up a bit small as well. As others have said they are a little less than grippy on wet rock but apart from that I love em
Review by Craig Easton
boots feel good an offer excellent ankle support barely need broken in a walk should do
Review by Mick Borroff

These boots have an excellent fit and a high quality upper but are let down by the poor quality of the sole unit. The rubber is too soft and wears out far too quickly. Within a year of normal use, lumps have also fallen off the sole. IMHO it is a misrepresentation that the Vibram 3D sole has "exceptional ... wear resistance" - as others have observed, it doesn't! The Vibram Darwin sole on the Zamberlan Vioz Plus GTX RR with the rubber rand has a much better and more hard-wearing sole.
Review by John

Very handsome boot with a fine-looking upper and distinctive sole unit. Poor grip on smooth, wet surfaces and chunks falling off the outsole after 1.200 miles will soon mean a resole. The upper should withstand two resoles, but I won't specify an OE unit if a decent alternative is available. Very good walking action for such a hefty boot and easy to maintain with a silicone wax, a better outsole would net a five star rating. Half a size small compared to most other brands.

I bought my pair a year ago but put them aside initially as they're a bit heavy. Having worn out the lighter boots I was using I started using my Vioz 4 1/2 months ago, so 5 1/2 months use all told. Neat, trim fit and a great walking action these are a lovely lookng boot but bits are falling off the soles. Grip on smooth, damp surfaces is shocking.
Review by Mr Bonanza
Have been using these boots for a good 20 years. For the last 8 years I have worn them every day and although I replace them every few years I have yet to actually wear a pair out. I gave one of my old pairs to my brother a few years ago and think he is still using them to this day.
Review by Paul Baker

Decent boot, though construction not completely consistent. Lot of miles before goretex lining gave way. Appalling grip levels on smooth and damp surfaces.
Review by Roderick Boyd
This is now the fifth pair Ive owned the old pairs Ive had resoled and worn them to destruction. Simply the best walking boot there is.
Review by Christopher Gibson
I wear these for work they will not last that long about 18 months wearing every day but I can go over 13 hours working hard and my feet still feel great.
Review by J M Horton
Great boots right level of stiffness and good grip but chunks of the sole came off so sent back and they were replaced. Looking forward to better durability with the new pair.
Review by David Cattell
This is my 4th pair of boots which I use for work in all weathers. They are comfy light warm and most important they keep your feet dry not to mention the grip. Yes they are excessive but well worth the money.

The 996 Vioz GTX Walking Boots are the best boot I ever had they are light and very comfortable
Review by Steve
Excellent boots. Not the most expensive but they last well. Used every day the last pair of the 996 Vioz GTX lasted 7 years pretty good methinks! I find them very comfortable.
Review by David Hitchens
Zamberlan have always delivered top quality boots and these are no exception. Comfortable from out of the box. A couple of issues with the sole (which others have mentioned) solved with a touch of superglue. The only boots Ive worn for decades which are truly waterproof thanks to the GTX and solid construction. Sole not as grippy as I would have liked but the effectiveness of the construction and the goretex layer found me purchasing this pair as a backup for my 5 yearold Vioz still going strong.
Review by Mr M E Coleclough
The best boots Ive had for comfort and would definitely purchase in future.
Review by Lisa Webber
Probably the most comfortable Ive ever worn. Durability very good. Only concern is the grip on very smooth surfaces in wet conditions.

Second pair of these walking boots, the first pair used almost daily, both for hiking, and for travelling and city walking. Very comfy and completely waterproof, even when walking through very wet terrain or wading through shallow waters. The soles are Vibram but could possibly be a bit more hard-wearing, especially if you're using the boots a lot on hard surfaces. But all in all, superb high-quality boots that I can thoroughly recommend.

The service from start to finish from Uttings has been top of the range, the boots are really comfortable and well made.I would recommend both to anyone.Going a half size up was great advice.
Review by Phil

Just the best boots I have ever owned. Great fit for those without wide feet. I used to get heel slip in any boot to some degree. And I always had to adjust the laces after a mile or two. With these it's fit and forget. So comfortable all day long. Really snug yet roomy - hard to explain, but that's how they feel. One downside, they don't grip on wet metal drain covers or slick rock. And I do mean worse than other boots on the same surfaces. You really need to be aware of this.
Review by Steve H

This is my third pair of these boots - bought because I suffer from arthritis in my toes. No other boot (and I've had/tried a few) has even come close to the comfort these boots provide. The 'rocker' sole takes almost all the strain off the toe joints, which means I can walk rather than hobble along. I practically live in the things. I would give them full marks, but they can be a tad slippy on wet stone - but other than that they've been superb in every area.

Ordered the Zabererlans 996 Vois GT and they arrived next day.Great service from Uttings.I usually take size 9 uk so ordered a size 45 and they fit perfectly. The boots are top quality and a very good price from Uttings.
Review by Johno

Bought a pair of these to replace the Zamberlans I'd bought back in 1999 whose heels had disintegrated but having worn them on a number of lengthy world backpacking trips, they'd lasted well. Looked at less heavy-duty boots but couldn't find my size (47/12) so chose the 996 Vioz GTs which seem to fit perfectly - advice about getting a size up from your regular shoe size is spot on - I ordered size 48. Quite light boots despite being heavy-duty, only gripe I could make about them is the red bits.

After over 20 years of fellwalking/hiking and bagging 28 Munros, I thought I knew a lot about boots. Now I do. Why did it take so long for me to buy Zamberlan? Bought these really as a Autumn/Winter boot, but they have proved themselves worthy as a summer boot also. The 996 Vioz GT are extremely comfortable, and work well with spikys in snowy conditions, and if you Nikwax them regularly they will last ages. Looking at getting the 760 Steep boots for light duty work.
Review by Darren

These boots are awesome. I used them once for an hour up the south downs and then a week later I went up Mount Snowdon. No blisters or pain anywhere. Total support and comfort. Totally recommend these boots to anyone.
Review by Rod

Bought these boots for Nepal trek which did not happen. However have used them all spring and summer as they are as about as waterproof as a leather boot could be- shoe size 83/4 these boots 44, with one pair of socks the fit is great. Have read reviews where the laces have been critiisized for coming loose - no probs for me. Best boots I have ever worn - and I have had a few over 40 odd years!
Review by Nandor

Simply perfect. My feet size a little bit over 41 so I have ordered size 42 because of the recommendations I have read. The boots are feels like they are part of my feet. The delivery was really fast. I highly recommend this seller.
Review by Roderick Boyd

After completing a round of all the Munros wearing these boots, I have just bought myself another pair. They are the most comfortable, hard wearing and waterproof boots I have ever used. The Zamberlan lasts ensure that every pair of their boots fit like a glove without any breaking in. They are a low volume boot so are good for narrowish feet. I would recommend that you should order a size one and a half over your shoe size.

This is my second pair of vios boots they are so comfortable ans stable in all conditions. Thanks to you Uttings for a faultless transaction, great communication and speedy service. 100%
Review by Cameron Mcgilvary

These boots are very well made, they are comfy maybe a little narrow fitting but im a size 9 and i m happy with them. I've been a couple of long walks and they need no breaking in, i love them already !!!
Review by Brian Wood

Ordered these boots from Uttings 5th Nov. arrived as promised next day (excellent sevice). What a fantastic boot. First days wear 9 mile walk in heavy rain arrived home totally dry no blisters, next day same walk, same results. Boots are so comfortable almost like wearing slippers but with brilliant grip basically they do what they say on the box. I did follow the advice on the website and ordered half a size up, if I hadn't done this the my normal size would have been tight. I've always had Brasher superlite in the past but these boots are superior in every way and well worth the few extra pounds. Zamberlan has definitely ticked all the right boxes with this boot
