Would have been a 9 if the mount had been better. I had an ND3 prior to this - good but not enough light for a decent 100 yard fox shot. This one is far better - heavier but worth it, can identify & shoot a fox at 200 yards easily. Quality product apart from the lousy screws supplied with the mount which are poor quality (worse than any bog-standard scope mounts) they sheer off (had same issue with the smaller ND3). Foxes can see the light, but they can't readily identify it with danger or the source
