FABRIC
- Fabric made from 100% supplex nylon (Nylamtium®), mesh from 100% polyester
- Fabrics of all Tilley Hats are certified to block 98% of harmful UVA/UVB rays
- Although our Hats block 98% of UV rays, some rays COULD enter through the 3/4" mesh.
- Machine wash delicate or hand wash. Re-shape by hand. Air dry. Do not bleach. Wash it frequently or non-removable sweat stains will mar it and possibly rot it.

Yes theyre expensive but they are proper hats for life not throw away rubbish and this particular hat gives really good shade coverage for ears neck and face and is cooler to wear than a boonie type hat that makes you sweat. Having got some sun damaged skin I want to avoid or minimise any skin cancer risks (especially as daughters being treated for malignant melanoma triggered by sun exposure!)

Having spent goodness knows how much on wide brim hats in the past which you could not wash or fell to bits quickly Ive taken the plunge and splashed out on a Tilley. First impressions are good. Quality of material fit as stated on hat is spot on and I like the size of the brim (I burn easy so like a wide brim). Looking forward to trying this hat out during our canal boat holiday in September and on the golf course.
